Sport Governing Body Planning Assessment and Support

As part of a drive towards professionalism at every level of the organisation, one of Ireland’s top 3 sports Governing Bodies initiated development of strategic plans for each of its major areas of activity.

The project involved supporting this process through timely external interventions on 3 different strategic plans: Schools, 3 rd Level and Futsal. In each case, the role was to review progress, feedback on the validity of the plan and provide guidance on changes required to ensure an acceptable standard of final documentation. The assignment covered:

• review of each plan following initial drafting in-house
• guidance on goal-setting, goal definition and plan structuring
• development of appropriate measures, targets, actions and timeframes for each goal in conjunction with the in-house planning team
• structured assessment of the detail and validity of each action area and outcomes
• assistance with production of final drafts ready for design and publication
