Olympic Winter Games, Torino 2006 (Italy)
Over 2,500 athletes coming from 84 different nations took part in 15 disciplines at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games – and with a record 80 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) entering athletes. Venues were spread throughout Torino (Turin) and seven other mountain resorts and required approximately 20,000 volunteers.

Intevo personnel were responsible for:
Event Services
- Operations planning and Games-time management of the Event Operations department of 36 regional and venue-based managers, responsible for an event-time workforce of 3,000 volunteers and paid staff.
- Venue integration, developing integrated operations plans with Ticketing, Transportation, and Security
Olympic Games Medals Plaza – Live Site / Fan Park
- Operations planning and Games-time management of the city centre “Fan Park” where all medals ceremonies were held and featuring nightly concerts with an audience of up to 10,000 spectators.
- Planning integration with Torino City authorities, and external agencies for a comprehensive Area Management Plan.
Workforce planning and delivery including:
- Staffing needs analysis to determine roles, structure and hire dates for required staff and headcount requirements by venue (DOT planning)
- Planning and implementation of recruitment, selection and mentoring processes of the project management team, regional and venue-based managers, central staff, supervisors and Games volunteers
- Writing of operations manual and operational planning guidelines
- Creation of operational policies & procedures
- Development of training programmes – for different organisational levels from management to volunteer staff
- Creation of contingency plans and troubleshooting protocols
- Event-time operations management
Ceremony Operations:
- Accreditation zoning plan and signage requirements
- Athlete Parade marshalling plan
- Planning and management of Athlete Staging venue
- Command, Control and Communications

Operational Readiness Review:
- planning of review developing review criteria
- management of review and production of feedback reports.
- Venue Readiness Reviews to ensure operational readiness of venues, identify risks and shortfalls as well as make recommendations for further improvement prior to event
